Description
This recipe combines sweet strawberries and creamy cheesecake, all encased in warm, crispy fried bread, creating a delightful treat perfect for lunch or a sweet snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (150 g) fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Start by preparing the filling. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, heavy cream, granulated sugar, diced strawberries, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy; set aside.
- Next, take two slices of bread and spread a generous amount of the strawberry cheesecake filling on one slice, then top it with the other slice to form a sandwich.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, eggs, and cinnamon until well combined. This will be your batter for frying the sandwiches.
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Youβll know itβs ready when a small drop of batter sizzles when dropped in.
- Dip each sandwich in the batter, ensuring itβs evenly coated. Carefully place the sandwich in the hot oil.
- Fry each sandwich for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Use a spatula to flip them gently.
- Once fried, remove the sandwiches and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- For added sweetness, dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy your delicious fried strawberry cheesecake sandwiches while warm!
Notes
Make sure your oil is hot enough before frying to avoid greasy sandwiches. Consider using a cookie cutter for fun shapes.
