Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet with space in between them.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden around the edges.
- Let cool completely before frosting.
Notes
Allow cookies to sit overnight for best flavor and texture. Store in an airtight container.
