Description
These ghostly yogurt parfaits are a festive, nourishing Halloween breakfast featuring creamy vanilla yogurt, fresh fruit, crunchy granola, and playful marshmallow ghost toppers. Quick to assemble and endlessly customizable, they’re a kid-friendly treat perfect for busy mornings or spooky parties.
Ingredients
- 2 cups vanilla yogurt (Greek or regular; use dairy-free if desired)
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1 cup granola or cereal (nut-free or gluten-free as needed)
- 1 cup fresh fruit (mixed berries, sliced bananas, or chopped apples)
- 4 large marshmallows (1 per parfait, for ghost heads)
- 8 mini chocolate chips (2 per ghost, for eyes)
- 4 mini M&Ms or tiny chocolate candies (optional, for ghost mouths)
- White icing or melted white chocolate (for sticking features, if needed)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional, for extra fiber)
- 2 tablespoons shredded coconut (optional, for ghostly effect)
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds (optional, for crunch)
Instructions
- Wash and slice your fruit. In a mixing bowl, stir honey or maple syrup into the yogurt if desired.
- Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of yogurt into the bottom of each jar or cup.
- Add a layer of granola or cereal, then a layer of fruit.
- Repeat layers of yogurt, granola, and fruit until near the top of the jar or cup, finishing with a layer of yogurt.
- Place a marshmallow on top of each parfait. Using a toothpick or your fingers, press two mini chocolate chips into the marshmallow for eyes. Optionally, add a mini M&M or another chip for a mouth.
- Pipe a swirl of yogurt or melted white chocolate around the marshmallow for extra ghostly effect. Sprinkle shredded coconut or chia seeds around the ghost if desired.
- Serve immediately for best texture. If prepping ahead, wait to add granola and marshmallows until just before serving.
Notes
Use thick yogurt for best results. Chill ingredients before assembly to keep marshmallow ghosts in place. For gluten-free or nut-free, choose appropriate granola or cereal. Let kids decorate their own ghosts for extra fun. Parfaits are best served fresh; store granola separately if prepping ahead.
